QS Tool - Frequently Asked Questions
QS Tool - Frequently Asked Questions
What is the G&T Quality Standard?
The G&T Quality Standard is designed as a self-evaluation instrument for schools and colleges. It can be used to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses in their support for gifted and talented learners. It is intended to provide a sound basis for an action plan that can be slotted into the institution’s overall improvement plan. It can also be used to support the introduction of personalised education across the whole school or college.
How does the online NQS Tool work?
First click on the left-hand column to choose the section of the QS you wish to address. The categories for this section will appear in the second column. Select the category you wish to examine. The relevant text for the QS framework will appear in a textbox in the right-hand column. You can enter your own notes in the Evidence and Next steps boxes. When you have assessed the level of your school’s provision, use the traffic lights on the right to change the relevant status indicator. If you have any other questions about how the tool works, please contact us.
How do I get an overall sense of how much I’ve filled in?
Click on the ‘View all’ link in the right-hand column. A table will be displayed containing all the text from the QS framework, all the notes you have placed in the Evidence and Next steps boxes, and all the traffic light indicators you have placed in the QS.
Why do I have to log in to use it?
This allows us to store any data you save. We also take information about your LA, region and type of school, to give us a sense of who is using the tool and where they are using it.
